Education

Studies of geosciences at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, diploma (master’s degree) in geography in 1986. Then doctoral studies in social sciences with focus on economic, industrial and organizational sociology, doctorate in 1992. Course in Organizational Development at the GDI in Zurich. Executive Development Program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, USA. Numerous advanced courses in specialized themes such as strategic management, corporate governance, organizational structures, M&A, integration management, managing the innovation process, systemic thinking and action, leadership, communication and mediation.

 

Professional experience

During studies first undergraduate later graduate assistant for research and teaching at the Institute of Geography and Seminar of Sociology at the University of Fribourg. In 1992 entry into Swissair AG: employee in internal consulting services, management function in Corporate Development, General Manager of the staff function for the Marketing & Ground Services division. 1996 switch to Sabena, Belgium’s national airline: Vice President Corporate Development und Member of the Management Committee. 1998: Mandate as Program and Course Leader of the “Executive Master of Corporate Development”, Swiss postgraduate studies in Corporate Development, and Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. Since 1998: start-up and Executive Director of Vianova GmbH (main activity). Since 2009 Member of the Foundation Board of Sympany (insurance).

Working languages: German, English, French. Spanish verbally. Grew up in South America, qualification for university entrance in South Africa. Foreign assignments and projects in Belgium, Germany, France, Poland, USA and others.
